Feed 1,000 2014 a Huge Success

On a cold December Saturday, more than 2,200 Rhode Islanders filed through the doors of the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence and enjoyed a hot meal, received a warm coat, gloves and more and were assisted by hundreds of volunteers bearing smiles and gifts  at the 2014 Feed 1,000.

The annual event Priority Management Group owners Richard Santilli, Robert Skeffington and Ray Jorgensen started four years ago as a way to provide support and make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate in Rhode Island. Through these efforts, Feed 1,000 was established.  This annual event provides a warm meal, winter coats, toys for children, backpacks filled with toiletries and health services to Rhode Islanders in need.

In December  2014, with the help from our sponsors and partners,  Feed 1,000 produced its largest event to date. More than 2,200 Rhode Islanders in need during the 2014 holiday season attended the event – the most ever since the event began four years ago. In all, Feed 1,000 provided the following to those less fortunate in Rhode Island this winter:

  • 1,100 toys
  • 1,900 winter coats
  • 2,100 scarfs, gloves and hats
  • 2,000 pairs of socks
  • 2,400 backpacks filled with toiletries
  • 700 Christmas stocking filled with goodies
  • 220 flu shots
  • 2,400 coffee mugs
